Business Development Manager (Clinical Background) at Synapse Services

Synapse Services is a "Center for Psychological Medicine", based within the Abuja metropolis, that specializes in the provision of psychological and counseling services, inpatient facilities/treatment and rehabilitation services. We retain the services of a robust mixture of local and internationally trained staff that provide excellent, client focused services to treat all forms of disorders related to your mental health.

Wea re recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Business Development Manager (Clinical Background)

Location:
Abuja

Role
  • The key role of the Business Development Manager will be to develop and grow new and existing businesses of the hospital.
Business Development
1.) Develop short and long-range management and organization plan to define responsibilities and business activities consistent with hospital goals and objectives
2.) Assist in developing annual budget and management plan to increasing market share of the hospital.
3.) Assist in developing and maintaining psychiatrist, psychologist and other allied mental healthcare professional relations, both inside and outside the hospital and amongst sector actors.
4.) Prepare and make presentation to prospective clients and network to increase Synapse' visibility.
5.) Conduct marketing research and analyze activities to ensure that the hospital is competitive in the marketplace, on a local and national basis.

Marketing:
1.) Develop, implement, and monitor systems that ensure access to the facility & network of Synapse Services.
2.) Develop plans to market the services of the hospital beyond its immediate geographical catchment area
3.) Will enthusiastically develop and maintain strong business and referral relationships with physicians, discharge planners and the medical community
4.) Ensure customer communication occurs with a primary focus on increasing market share and revenue
5.) Develop & monitor relationship management plans & strategies to in line with Synapse's organizational strategies.
6.) Ensure facility has adequate marketing tools and develop appropriate collaterals.
7.) Identify daily customer service needs and develop/ensure immediate response.
8.) Responsible for tactical and strategic market planning.
9.) Develop and implement a tracking system for recording inquiries, referrals, admissions and outcomes for marketing purposes.
10.) Undertake market research and competitor analysis, draw conclusions from this, suggest changes and improvements and review activities to feed into forward planning.

Supervision:
1.) Supervise and direct the Business Development/marketing team and assure contacts are completed as assigned within time frame.
2.) Create a database of sector actors, National Doctor's Association, Government and Private Hospital, and other Health facilities.
3.) Monitor activities of the Business Development team to assure successful strategies are implemented to meeting all set financial targets.
4.) Evaluates each team member's effectiveness and develop action plan for success.
5.) Must ensure team work to meet or exceed set targets
6.) Approve or carry out all tours/visits to Synapse Services by group or organizational prospect to increase referral potential clients.
7.) Submit monthly, quarter and annual report on Sales/Marketing activities highlighting achievements and challenges.

Candidate should:
1.) Be comfortable working in a complex and highly competitive environment
2.) Have a strong understanding of the business drivers relevant to a private hospital, ideally through experience in a private hospital setting.
3.) Be able to work with a great deal of autonomy.
4.) Have significant experience in a healthcare environment at senior level, with some experience in a sales or a business development environment
5.) Demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness within the healthcare environment
6.) Demonstrate a significant knowledge of sales and a proven record of sales ability

Qualification
  • An MBBS or a good degree in Medical Sciences, Marketing or Business Administration with at least 3 years working
  • Clinical Background (Educational or practical) is desirable though not mandatory
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, ideally in the health care industry
  • Computer literate with demonstrated ability in generic computer packages such as Microsoft Office and the use of social media
Skills:
  • A strong focus in relationship management, and customer service
  • Demonstrated business acumen
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing new business models
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills using persuasion and motivation
  • Highly developed problem solving skills
